The new AG-AC130A and AC160A AVCCAM HD handheld camcorders incorporate high-sensitivity 1/3", Full HD, 2.2 megapixel 3-MOS imagers to capture native 1920 x 1080 HD images, as well as DV images.
The AG-AC160A – A Premium Choice for HD Image Capture
Offering the same functionality as the AC130A, the premium AG-AC160A provides these additional top production features: variable frame rate recording in 1080p for slow and fast motion recording, Linear PCM audio, HD-SDI output, and switchability between 59.94Hz/50Hz for worldwide use.
High-Quality AVCHD Image Quality
The AC130A/160A record video in four pro AVCCAM HD recording modes, including the highest-quality PH mode (average 21 Mbps/Max 24 Mbps); the HA mode (approx.17 Mbps); the extended recording HE mode (approx. 6 Mbps); and a PM mode (approx. 8 Mbps, 720p only), which is ideal for shooting sports training and Web video. In addition, the 160A can record in 1080/60p and 50p recording (maximum 28Mbps in PS mode). Because the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec provides a doubling of bandwidth efficiency and improved video performance over the older MPEG-2 compression-based formats, recordings look clean and crisp, even during fast motion, without image degradation or dropouts.
High-Performance 2.2 Million Imager
Equipped with high-sensitivity, low-noise 1/3", Full HD 2.2 megapixel Ultra Luminance Technology (ULT) 3-MOS imagers and a 20-bit Digital Signal Processor, these cameras deliver superb low-light images in native 1920 x 1080 resolution.
High-Powered 22X Zoom Lens
With the longest lens in their class (a wide 22X zoom with 3 independent adjustable rings for Zoom/Focus/Iris), these solid-state cameras let you nail virtually every shot you're after, even in dimly lit scenes. With a wide 28mm to 616 mm (35mm full frame equivalent) viewing angle, they cover most shooting situations without the need for a wide-angle conversion lens.
Exceptional Recording Flexibility
The AG-AC130A and AC160A record at 60Hz in the following HD formats in PH mode: 1080/59.94i, 1080/29.97p, 1080/23.98pN, 720/59.94p, 720/29.97p and 720/23.98pN. In HA and HE modes, they record in 1080/59.97i, while in DV, these solid-state units record at 480/59.94i, 480/29.97p, 480/223.98p. And at 50Hz, the AC160A also records in 1080/50i and 1080/25p, 720/50p and 720/25p, and 576/50i and 576/25p.
New Focus Assist Functions
In addition to conventional focus-in-red assist, improved functionality in the AC130A and AC160A includes expanded focus assist and "turbo speed" one-push auto focus. The expanded focus assist function enables the camcorders to zoom in on the picture to check focus. The turbo-speed one-push auto focus capability ensures that the camcorders quickly attain focus.
Create Fast and Slow Motion Effects
The cameras provide 22-step variable frame rate capability in 1080/23.98pN, 29.97p and 25p to support undercranking/overcranking for fast or slow motion effects. The AC160A offers variable frame rate recording in 1080p.
Extended Record Times
They record for up to 12 hours on two 64GB SDB cards in PH mode, with automatic clip spanning across the two cards. In 6Mbps HE mode, the AC130A and AC160A can record for up to 48 hours.
Versatility in Professional Interfaces
The AG-AC130A and AC160A offer a range of professional interfaces, including an HD-SDI output (AC160A only), HDMI output (AVCHD only), USB 2.0 (mini B-type), IEEE 1394 output (DV only), and a built-in stereo microphone.
With storage capacities of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB, Panasonic's UHS-1 Memory Cards are faster, smarter and more robust than current SDHC media and have been fully optimized for professional use with the AVCCAM line of affordable HD camcorders. With transfer rates of 90MBs (4-1/2 times as fast as the previous generation of SDHC media), they deliver an impressive Proof 5 durability, encompassing resistance to water, shock, magnetization, X-rays and temperature extremes (cards are operable from -13 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit).
